Review of The Unexpected Duchess by Valerie Bowman

This is the first book I have read by this author. I really loved the two main protagonists. Lucy Upton is a sharp tongued red head who is not afraid to tell her suitors what she thinks of them. Derek Hunt is a new Duke who was a soldier and is not intimidated by Lucy. He gives as good as he gets. Derek promises a fellow soldier who is dying that he will marry a young lady by the name of Cassandra. Derek returns to London to court her and encounters Lucy who is Cassandra's best friend. It's a battle of wits and who knows who will win. This story had humor, passion, friendship, everything an historical romance needs. I would recommend this book to anyone.

A Shocking Delight
Jo Beverley

Jo Beverley has added another treasure to her "Company of Rogues".  She brings the Regency period to life in her books.  David Kerslake from "The Dragon's Bride" is back for his own story.  He is now the Earl of Wyvern and goes to London to find a rich bride to help bring his estate back to life.   Enter Lucy Potter, a merchants daughter who decides to go to London for a seaon even though she isn't really interested in getting married.  This is a rich, vibrant, romantic adventure as only Jo Beverly can create.  We also get to meet Nicholas Delaney again, which is an added bonus.  I have all of her books and they are all keepers.  This is a great Regency Romance that everyone should read.

I discovered Caroline Linden quite by accident when I was in a used book store and picked up "What a Gentlemen Wants", and as they say the rest is history.  I own all of her books and have loved everyone.

She writes with humor, suspense and emotion.  I liked the characters and the story was great.  Abigail and Vane, the main characters come from two different worlds but are instantly attracted to each other.  I don't do spoilers in my reviews so you will have to read it for yourself.  I enjoyed it very much and I recommend it.

Lady Wild by Maire Claremont

This is the first book I have read by this author.  I was captured from the first page.  Her writing is beautiful and so emotionally rich that I cried at least four times while reading this novel.
The story is heart warming and so well written.  I finished it in an hour.  I could not stop reading it. I will be reading her other books and recommend this one highly.
