ARC Review of The Duke of Andelot by Delilah Marvelle

A wonderful ending to The School of Gallantry Series. This was my favorite. Not only did you get to see how life began for Therese, Mistress of the School of Gallantry, you see how she survives and even thrives in the face of truly horrific life events. The love of her life is Gerard, The Duke of Andelot who she meets on the side of the road in France just as the French Revolution is getting chaotic and out of control. Gerard is trying to save his Godfather, the King of France and Therese is trying to get to Paris to become a famous actress. They make an agreement to be lovers and then she will spy for him and get him whatever she can to help him save the king. What follows is a truly incredible journey into the heart of two people and the country that they love. The descriptions and events of the French Revolution are almost impossible to imagine but Delilah tells this story with great historical accuracy and heartwrenching emotion. This book takes place over 30 years and proves that true love can conquer all!!! I have read all of Delilah's books and have loved them all and this one is beautifully written and takes you on an emotional rollercoaster that you will not soon forget.
Received an ARC for an honest review.
