Review of The Madness of Viscount Atherbourne by Elisa Braden
This is the first book I have read by Elisa Braden and it was a marvelous adventure. I loved it from the beginning to the end. Victoria Lacey a sweet young lady who does what has led an rather uneventful life so far. Now she is engaged to a perfectly boring fiancee and looking forward to a perfrectly boring future. And then one night she meets a stranger at a ball and scandal ensues. Lucien, the Viscount Atherbourne is bent on revenge, to deny the man who is responsible for the death of his sister and brother, his family. When the scandal breaks Lucien and Victoria are forced to marry. Victoria wants a happy marriage and is willing to try but she knows that Lucien married her to torment her brother. She must try to break through his rage, pain and sadness to the man within, and her only way is to give him all of herself and hope he will accept her love. Lucien is tortured, he hates her brother but knows he is falling for her, but he cannot let go of his hatred. When the truth comes to light about who really was responsible for his siblings deatths everything changes and he realizes he will do anything to earn and keep her love. This was a very well written historical romance novel. I enjoyed it very much. I love the Elisa wrties, her characters are strong, the story worth every minute, wish it could have been longer. Would recommend this book to anyone who loves great historical romance.
