This is the first book that I have read by Amelia Grey and it will not be the last. I really enjoyed this book. Amelia has a unique style that I found was very satisfying. Sometimes I am a little frustrated by how a book drags on and then all the action happens in the last chapter. This book was different, I was captivated through the whole book. The Earl, Harrison is charming, handsome, witty and is a true gentleman rogue. But the last thing on his mind is marriage. He has just begun restoring his estate from his deceased brother. He has no intention of going to London, even if the Prince of Wales orders him to.
Angelina Rule is in love with her soldier, and she plans on marrying him as soon as he returns from war. Everything changes when her father says that he is in debt and the only way to save their home is for her to marry someone the Prince of Wales picked out for her. She has always been a dutiful daughter, but not this time. She is going to marry her true love and to do that she has to find a way to earn enough money to satisfy her father's creditors.
Harrison comes to London as ordered and meets Angelina. He likes her and wants to get to know her better. There is an instant sexual tension from the minute they meet, he knows what it is and she doesn't understand how she can have feelings for Harrison and love her soldier.
Amelia is a superb storyteller whose books move along at a great pace. Her characters are amazing and have such depth. This book is sensual, charming and touching. I really enjoyed it and now will have to go back and read the first book in the series.
