This is the first book I have read by Eva Leigh (aka Zoe Archer) and it will not be my last. I loved it!!! I laughed out loud alot and also cried. Her writing is wonderfully romantic and lyrical intertwined with rich emotion and marvelous intelligent characters. Eleanor Hawke is a commoner who runs a newspaper that she built from nothing. She enjoys her life and doesn't need anyone. Daniel Balfour is the Earl of Ashford and he is tired of being written about in the gossip newspaper called The Hawk's Eye. He confronts Eleanor and they make a deal that will let her write about him in her newspaper if she accompanies him on his nightly adventures and writes about what she sees and not here say. Daniel has another motive for letting her follow him. As they spend more time together their feelings for each other grow and Daniel realizes that he has done nothing worth while with his life and really has nothing to show for it. He admires Eleanor and respects the way she has taken charge of her life and has a purpose. Eleanor also comes to an epiphany about her life. She now knows that she wants to share her life with someone and maybe use her newspaper to help people who are less fortunate. The plot moves at a great pace and the ending is a HAE of course. There is love, laughter, adventure and hope in this story. You will love it!!
