ARC Review of The Art of Sinning by Sabrina Jeffries

Sabrina Jeffries has done it again. A new series started with a wonderful story.  Jeremy is an American artist who is looking for a model for his masterpiece, the one painting that has been his obsession and he has found her.  Lady Yvette Barlow is a young debutante who has been betrayed in love and wants nothing to do with a scoundrel like Jeremy.  He is a a very talented painter and a rogue who spends his time in the seedier of the London brothels.  But Yvette has a problem that she needs help with and talks Jeremy into helping her and in exchange she will model for him.  They both have had past relationships that have made them wary and unsure, and they do not trust themselves to act on their feelings even though the attraction is mutual and getting more difficult to ignore the more time they spend with each other.

This story has everything you would want in a historical romance, suspense, heart wrenching emotions, redemption for both Yvette and Jeremy, a sexual attraction that sizzles so hot I had to stop reading and take deep breaths, and a love so deep that it will overcome all obstacles in it's path.  I have been reading Sabrina Jeffries for years and her writing just keeps getting better and better.  I will always pick up any book that has her name on it.   She has always been a shining star in the Historical Romance Genre and I cannot wait for the next book in the series.

Received an ARC for an honest review.

ARC Review of The Maddening Lord Montwood by Vivienne Lorret

This is my favorite of the series The Rakes of Fallow Hall.  I love a rogue who thinks he isn't good enough for the girl and she is strong enough to convince him otherwise.  We have met Lucan Montwood in the first two books in the series, and I have to admit I liked him best from the start of the series.  He is smart, secretive, a little unprincipled, really a rogue through and through.  He meets his match in Frances Thorne.  She believes the worst of him because of what his family has done to her father.  Little does she know that if it wasn't for Lucan, her father would be in prison.

Lucan is the last of the Fallow Hall Rakes not married and he is just waiting to the end of the year to collect his 10,000 pounds of the wager they made in the first book of the series.  Now all he has to do is stay single and to do that he must resist the charms of a certain young lady.  Frances doesn't trust him, but she cannot seem to stop thinking about him or lusting after him.

Vivienne writes a suspenseful story that has beautiful moments of tenderness, laughter, a hot love scene that will make you squirm in your chair and a beautiful love story.  I really loved this book and I think Vivienne is well on her way to being one of those writers that her books will become keepers that you will read over and over again.

“Wickedly sensual!”—Lorraine Heath, New York Times bestselling author
“Intoxicating…she leaves readers begging for more.”—Fresh Fiction
“Clever and passionate.”—Romance Junkies

Alexandra Hawkins has done it again!!!  This book is the first in her new series and after reading this one I can honestly say that this is going to be another award winning series.  I read everything that she writes whether it bears the name Alexandra Hawkins or AKA Barbara Pierce!  This book is everything that a historical romance novel should be.  A feisty heroine, a rake for a hero, a really bad villain, a great story with a plot that moves at a great pace, a beautiful love story, amazing sensual love scenes and a HAE.  Alexandra is one of the authors who got me started reading historical romance when I came across a book called Tempting The Heiress by Barbara Pierce, which I still have, along with all her other books.  She understands what the reader wants,  and doesn't dumb down the writing because she knows her fans are intelligent and can handle sophisticated plots.  This is a beautifully written love story where the two main protagonists go through some harrowing situations to get to their lovely HAE.
