Review of Lady Be Good by Meredith Duran

Meredith Duran has always been one of my favorite go to HR writers because of her exceptional talent and intelligent writing.

This book was a little different for me in that the two main female characters Lily and Catherine were two amazing women who are completely different and yet the same.  They both are strong women who do not need a man in their lives to survive. The growth that they both showed was amazing to read especially Catherine.  I love story between Lily and Christian was intense, passionate and a joy to read. Great plot with lots of action and a really bad villain.

Meredith writes marvelous intricate stories that engage your mind and your emotions.  Loved it!!!!!

Review of The Seduction of Lord Stone by Anna Campbell

Another delightful novella from Anna Campbell.  I read this in less than two hours.  Could not put it down.  Anna makes me laugh out with her witty dialogue.  What I love most about Anna's writing is her unique plots and characters.  She is truly a giant in the Regency Period of Historical Romance.  The passion and love between Caroline and Silas is stunning and the emotion that she provokes in this novella amazing.  I cannot wait for the next two novels in this series. I know they will be as incredible!!!  Do not ever miss an Anna Campbell Novel!!!!

Review of The Duke and His Duchess and The Courtship by Grace Burrowes

This set of books were a joy to read.  The Courtship shows how Percy and Esther meet and fall in love and The Duke and His Duchess takes place after they are married with all the joys and sorrows that married couples deal with.  In the Courtship is was almost love at first sight for Percy and Esther.  They meet at a house party where she is the poor relation who is ridiculed by the other young ladies at the house party who are of higher rank and come from money.  Percy is with his younger brother Anthony who are both younger sons of a Duke and are pursued like foxes at a hunt by all the debutantes attending.  There are schemes, plots and traps a plenty at this particular house party, but Percy and Esther find their way and fall in love and go to their HAE. The Duke and His Duchess is the story of Percy and Esther after 5 years of marriage and 4 children, all boys.  His brother Anthony is married.  Percy's mother, the Duchess has passed away and his father the Duke is not doing well.  His older brother, the heir has never been well and is getting worse year by year.  Both Percy and Esther are feeling confused and unsure of each other.  Esther is  exhausted, stressed out and doesn’t feel she can talk to Percy anymore.  Percy feels he doesn’t understand her anymore and feels like he is losing her.  All the pressures of being parents and trying to keep their family members healthy and happy while being the same people the way they were when they were first married is not easy.

The Courtship is a wonderful romance novel and The Duke and His Duchess is the continuing story that has such touching, stunning emotion that made me cry.  I know how Esther felt because I have had some of those same feelings in my life.  Grace writes such a remarkable story that you will never want it to end.

ARC Review of The Rogue You Know By Shana Galen

I just loved this book.  The hero is not an aristocrat, but a thief just like the heroine in the first book in The Convent Garden Cub Series,  "Earls Just Want  To Have Fun".  That book is where we met Gideon who was a cub  and is now grown and is trying to get away the cruel and dangerous Beezle who runs the gang of cubs now.  Gideon wants out so he steals a necklace that he is supposed to bring to Beezle and tries to run, but he doesn't get far and has to hide out.  He climbs into a bedroom in a nice part of town where he meets our heroine, Susanna.  Susanna is a young lady who has been so strictly sheltered by her mother she is ready for an adventure and she is sure Gideon is just the person to give it to her.  She blackmails Gideon into taking her to see Vauxhall Gardens and that's how the adventure begins.  And what a great, hair raising, dangerous, suspenseful, lovely adventure it is.  Susanna turns out to be less of a lady than she thought she was and Gideon more of a Gentleman than anyone thought he was.  This is a captivating fast paced book that will keep you up all night until you reach the end with a smile on your face and anticipating the next book in the series.  Love Shana's books!!!!
