ARC Review of Duke of My Heart by Kelly Bowen

The first page of this book was so unexpected and unique that I knew it was going to be an enthralling, captivating read.  This is the first in a new series for Kelly and if this book is any indication, it's going to be an amazing series.

Max Harcourt is a Sea Captain who is also a Duke.  He comes home from a long voyage to find a dead man in his young sister's bed, a bossy striking female giving orders and his young sister no where to be found. And this is all in the first chapter.  It only gets better!  Ivory Moore is a woman in a man;s world.  She is smart, tough, independent and wants nothing to do with the vibrant, good looking Duke, or so she says. They are both fascinated with each other but circumstances make any relationship unwise and complicated.

The twists and turns in the plot are intricate, smart, fast paced and addictive.  The characters are amazingly complex and sophisticated.  I read this book in one day.  The secondary characters really help make the story and I cannot wait for their stories.  I recommend Kelly's books to anyone who loves an intelligently written story with intrigue, danger and a beautiful love story.
