Book Tour and Review of Wicked Rivals by Lauren Smith

Merciless and powerful, Ashton Lennox is a wealthy man because he puts business before everything else, especially love. As a member of the infamous League of Rogues, he’s no stranger to scandal. His bedroom conquests are as legendary as his fortune. As he searches for a way to bring down an old enemy bent on destroying the lives of his friends, the last thing he needs is a Scottish widow getting in his way.

The daughter of a Scottish lord with a dark and treacherous past, Rosalind Melbourne has spent years distancing from her past. After escaping her tyrannical father and marrying an aging English lord, she has become a powerful widow with a business empire at her command. Her business dealings are everything to her, leaving her no time for love. Especially not with her business rival Ashton, a man with a scandalous reputation as striking as his blue eyes.

Ashton is fascinated by the strong-willed, intelligent and sensual lady who, up until now, had outsmarted him at every turn. Rosalind wishes she could deny she is falling for the brooding, handsome baron. How can she possibly trust him when doing so could cost her what she values most—her freedom? When Ashton discovers Rosalind might hold the key to saving the League of Rogues, he knows he will do anything to woo his wicked lass. As their pasts return to haunt them and dark forces rise to keep them from exposing a deadly spymaster, their game of love turns to a game of survival…

Warning: This book includes a brooding baron who’s wild in bed, a crafty Scottish lass who never knows when to quit, a wicked game of strip chess, and a merry band of rogues whose first instinct is to run they hear wedding bells ring.

My Review

I have read all of Lauren's books and I have to say this is my favorite one so far in the "A League of Rogues" Series.  I really loved Ashton Lennox.   All though he is a confidant,  a Alpha male who is gorgeous and has a deep abiding love for his fellow Rogues and will do anything to keep them safe.  He will even seize all the holdings and companies of an innocent woman who is allowing the Leagues mortal enemy to invest in her businesses.

Lady Rosalind Melbourne is a widow and successful business woman who is tough and smart.  She has expanded the business that her late husband left her.  She also loves to compete with her rivals and out bidding a certain Baron who has become a real pain!!  She has been doing business with Sir Hugo Waverly and does not know that he is the real reason that Ashton Lennox and been trying to undermine her companies.

When Ashton decides the only way to get to Sir Hugo is through Lady Melbourne's assets.  So he buys up all her debts and talks five banks in London not to extend her any credit so she cannot run her company.  What follows is an adventure that neither Ashton or Rosalind could have imagined. Excitement, Danger, really hot sex and a suspenseful wickedly alluring plot will leave you on the edge of your seat till the very end.

This book had everything that you would want in a Historical Romance and more.  Lauren is a wonderful author and you will not be able to stop yourself from falling in love with her characters and their love stories.

This one is a keeper!!  Do not miss it!!!

  1. I've loved this series so far and I was intrigued by the rather heated scene between Ashton and Rosalind in "Her Wicked Proposal". After reading your review, I'm even more keen to read their story.
