Review of Pursuing Lord Pascal by Anna Campbell

The fourth book in the Dashing Widows Series is a riveting new story that proves that Anna Campbell is one of the premier voices in Historical Romance.  Her writing is enchanting and intriguing.  Her characters are inspirational and jump right off the pages into your heart.

Lord Pascal is considered the most beautiful man in England.  He is popular with the ladies and has never had to work hard for companionship.  He has led mostly a carefree life until his estate is devastated by a hurricane and he has to marry an heiress to save his estate.  So begins his search for a bride.

Lady Amy Mowbray is a widow who is more comfortable in the fields of her estate than in a ballroom.  Her friends talk her into going to London and entering Society again.  She is not thrilled with the idea but she thinks that it will be good for her friends.

When Lord Pascal and Lady Mowbray meet the sparks fly.  Pascal has finally found a lady that is not a silly debutante.  Lady Mowbray is a lady who is beautiful and she actually has a brain and can converse on a number of subjects without a giggle in sight.  Amy doesn't think she is attractive and keeps Pascal at arms length because she doesn't think he is sincere.

Can Lord Pascal convince Lady Mowbray that she is wanted and not just for an affair.  Will Amy find out about Pascal's need for her money?

This is a must read for anyone who loves Anna Campbell and if you have not read any of the Dashing Widow's, that is ok.  This book is a lovely stand alone and if you really like it, I would recommend the first three novellas in this series.

  1. I have this on my TBR pile. I hope to get to it soon. Nice review, Jaci.

  2. Like Dot, I have this on my TBR list. Hopefully, I will be able to read it this month or next.
