Review of Winning Lord West by Anna Campbell

Anna Campbell's books evoke really satisfying emotions in her readers.  Speaking strictly as a fan girl of Anna's books, she is one of my top five favorite writers which says alot,  since I have been reading Historical Romance novels for 25 years.  I have never been disappointed after reading one of her books.  And this novella speaks for itself.  This is the third book in the Dashing Widows series.  I loved all three equally.

Helena is the most stubborn of the three widows.  Her dead husband was a real low life who made her life miserable.  She will never remarry and especially not Vernon Grange who was her first sweetheart and was the one who introduced her to her husband.

Vernon Grange, Lord West is in love with Helena and wants nothing more than to give her the fulfilling happy life she deserves.  Helena wants nothing to do with Lord West and she unfairly blames him for bringing her low life husband into her life.  Will she forgive him and let him back into her life or will she reject him without giving him a chance?

You also get to catch up with the other Widows and how happy they are in their marriages.

Anna made me cry happy tears for Helena and Vernon and I highly recommend that you read this and the first two in the series...You can get them on Amazon for only 99 cents each.  Believe me when I tell you that is one of the best bargains ever!!!

Review of The Devil is a Marquess by Elisa Braden

This is the fourth book in the Rescued from Ruin Series and they are just getting better.  I absolutely love Elisa's writing.

Benedict Chatham has hit bottom so hard all of Society thinks he will not make it to winter.  He is renting a room in a gambling hell, selling his body to bored woman of any class, drinking until he cannot stand up and has lost so much weight he looks like half dead already.  His physical condition is deteriorating so rapidly he cannot stand or walk without his walking stick.  He has no friends or anyone else to miss him if he dies.  His father has left an estate so badly in debt that even though he has sold everything that is not entailed, it would not make a dent in the debt.

Miss Charlotte Lancaster is a young lady who has five seasons and not one proposal of marriage.  It doesn't help that she taller than most men, has bright red hair and is covered with freckles.  Her father is a wealthy American who sent Charlotte to England to live with her aunt and uncle when she was just 5 years old.  Now she grown and just cannot go through another season.  She has a plan to run away to America and have her own life.  She is slowly amassing money from selling anything that has been bought by her allowance that is strictly administrated by her father's minion.  She is determined to make her own life and not marry an English Title which is her father's plan.

When Charlotte is summoned to her father's rented town house she is excited thinking that he has finally given up on her marrying a peer and will let her live her own life.  But not only is she wrong but he has found a title for his daughter.  Charlotte is horrified by her father's order to marry the worst nobleman in England.

Benedict agrees to the terms of the marriage and doesn't care how Charlotte feels. The amount of money he is offered is staggering but their is a catch.

This is the fourth book I have read of Elisa's and I am hooked for life.  Her writing is intelligent, Charlotte and Chatham are complex, earthy characters with flaws that make them complelling.  This story makes you cry and laugh.  I could not put it down.  Her style of writing reminds me of great authors that I have read for years and now she is one of my go to authors.  I am now a dedicated fan of Elisa Braden for life!!!

Virtual Book Tour for Temptations of A Wallflower by Eva Leigh

Eva Leigh’s deliciously sexy Wicked Quills of London series continues as a Lady’s secret career writing erotic fiction is jeopardized by real-life romance . . .
In society circles she’s known as the Watching Wallflower—shy, quiet, and certainly never scandalous. Yet beneath Lady Sarah Frampton’s demure fa├žade hides the mind of The Lady of Dubious Quality, author of the most titillating erotic fiction the ton has ever seen. Sarah knows discovery would lead to her ruin, but marriage—to a vicar, no less—could help protect her from slander. An especially tempting option when the clergyman in question is the handsome, intriguing Jeremy Cleland.

Tasked with unmasking London’s most scandalous author by his powerful family, Jeremy has no idea that his beautiful, innocent bride is the very woman he seeks to destroy. His mission must remain a secret, even from the new wife who stirs his deepest longings. Yet when the truth comes to light, Sarah and Jeremy’s newfound love will be tested. Will Sarah’s secret identity tear them apart or will the temptations of his wallflower wife prove too wicked to resist?

ARC Review of The Untamed Earl by Valerie Bowman

Another exciting and wicked addition to The Playful Brides series.

I absolutely loved Alex's and Owen's story.

Alex has loved Owen since she was 15 years old when he rescued her brother from two bullies at a party that she was too young to attend.  Owen is a bachelor who loves woman, wine and gambling.  He takes nothing seriously and is a great disappointment to his father.  Every time he is called on to the carpet by his father who tells him how worthless he is, he goes to greater lengths to prove his father correct.  But Alex sees something different in him...she believes that he is truly a honorable man with a good heart, he just needs a little encouragement.

All Alex wants is Owen but both his and her parents decides that he must marry her spoiled older sister Lavinia.  Alex agrees to help him with Lavinia hoping he will really see her and fall in love and want to marry her.  Owen agrees to help Alex become  popular to make her irresistible to the man she loves, (Owen doesn't know it's him) in exchange she will help Owen woo her sister.

What could go wrong? Owen really doesn't want to marry Lavinia, but if he doesn't his father will cut off his allowance.  Alex is determined to get Owen away from her sister and to see what a good man he really is.

As always Valerie writes a truly wonderful story that takes you on an adventure with laughter, lots of misbehaving and most of all a great love story.  This is a great stand alone book or if you have already read the other books in the series.  I recommend it highly.
