ARC Review of His Wicked Wish by Olivia Drake

This is the Book 5 in the Cinderella Sisterhood and Lady Milford has lent her red dancing slippers to another woman who is about to have her whole world turned upside down and her future forever changed.  I have read all of the four previous books in the series and can honestly tell you that I enjoyed them very much. Olivia's writing is uplifting, her characters are amazing and the stories take you to a place where there is adventure, peril, revenge, redemption and most of all love.

Maddy Swann is an actress who has decided to leave the stage and work towards her life long dream to open a business that would cater to everything a woman could want to make herself beautiful.  She decides to hold a private auction to find herself a protector and eventually save enough money to make herself independent.  Little does she know, she is about to get more than she ever wished for.

Nathan Atwood left England 10 years ago and vowed never to return.  When he receives a letter from his godmother Lady Milford that his father is on his death bed he decides it is time to go home.  He misses his brother and sister and now that his father is dead he doesn't ever have to set eyes on him again.  The very reason he left is because the mutual hatred he and his father felt for each other.

Nathan and Maddy make a bargain arranged by Lady Milford that turns out completely different than what they both had planned.  They are also both keeping secrets that could change the course of their lives.

I highly recommend this book and all the others in the series.  Olivia's stories are original and captivating and you won't them to end.

ARC Review of The Fairest of Them All by Cathy Maxwell

Another great book from Cathy Maxwell.    This series "Marrying the Duke" so far has been surprising, funny and not so great if you are a Duke.  As in the first book in the series, the Duke of Baynton is getting ready to marry or is he?

Charlene is the daughter of the late Lord of Dearne who brought his family to ruin with his profligate gambling.  She now lives with her Aunt, who she loves but they struggle to survive on the amount that her Aunt brings in.  Charlene learns how to be a pickpocket and does so in men's clothes.  She is stealing enough to keep them from starving and only does it when the need is great.  Unfortunately she has run afoul of a group of young criminals who say she is trespassing on their turf and they want a share of the money she steals or they will expose her.

Jack Whitridge is the twin brother of the Duke of Baynton who disappeared when he was younger and was thought dead by his family.  He ran away and eventually wound up in America where he has made himself a home and career.  He loves his adopted Country and has come to England to try to negotiate with the English to avoid a war.  He didn't realize how it had hurt his family when he left.  Now he has to convince his brother to use his influence to get a meeting with the Prime Minister.  Baynton agrees to help if Jack will help him win the heart of the woman he wants to marry.

Baynton doesn't know that the woman he wants to marry is the same woman who Jack caught stealing the purse of one of his American colleagues as soon as they arrived at the docks in London.  Will Jack tell his brother that Charlene is a thief?  Will Baynton finally find a bride?  Will Charlene and Jack act on the attraction they feel for each other?

I absolutely love Cathy Maxwell's writing.  I have been reading her books for years, they are keepers.  She is one of my go to authors.  I love the way she writes, witty banter, laugh out loud moments and truly beautiful love stories.  I recommend this book highly.  You will enjoy it as much as I have.
