ARC Review of A Lady's Code of Misconduct by Meredith Duran

This is the 5th book in The Rules of the Reckless Series.  I absolutely love this series.  I especially liked this one because the hero actually started out as the bad guy.

Crispin is a ruthless politician who will do anything to become the new Prime Minister of Great Britain.  He is not above blackmailing anyone who gets in his way.  Then one night while he is investigating a clue to a mystery he is attacked and almost killed.  When he wakes up he is in bed with a cracked skull and no memory of anything after he was at Cambridge.

Jane is an orphan and heiress to a huge fortune and she is trapped in the country where her aunt and uncle control her and her money.  She is just biding her time until she can run away with a servant, marry him, and take a ship to America.  What she doesn't  count on is her uncle's business partner will stop her.  Crispin has an agenda and cannot let Jane marry and disappear.

When Crispin loses his memory Jane has an idea.  Pretend that they are married so she can have access to her fortune and her Uncle cannot do anything about it.  What Jane doesn't count on is that Crispin is a completely different man when he wakes up.  They don't  count on liking each other or God forbid fall in .

Meredith writes intelligent characters with a fast paced plot.  Her writing is sensual, witty and totally captivating.  This book has everything you would want in a Historical Romance.   It is witty, sensual with a mystery that will keep you guessing to the very end. Crispin and Jane are extraordinary characters in a riveting story that will leave you wanting more.  The journey of Crispin and Jane to their HAE is fabulous.  I will read anything that Meredith writes.
