Review of My One True Highlander by Suzanne Enoch

I have always loved Suzanne's books and this one is going on my keeper shelf along with all her other books.

This is the second book in The No Ordinary Hero Series.

Graeme, Viscount Maxton is a genuine rugged handsome highlander.  He takes care of everyone who looks to him for protection.  He is raising his three younger brothers as best that he can.  Teaching them what they need to know so that they can survive in the Highlands where loyalty is essential and treachery is always close by.  Graeme is Laird of his estate The Lion's Den which is part of Clan Maxwell.  Graeme has money problems, tenant problems and worst of all he does not get along with the leader of Clan Maxwell.

Lady Marjorie Forrester is the sister of the Duke of Lattimer (the hero in the first book in the series) and has decided to go to Scotland to surprise her brother and attend his wedding.  While stopping at an Inn in the Highlands she is kidnapped and brought to the stronghold of the Laird of The Lion's Den by Graeme's younger brothers, thinking that Graeme can give Lady Marjorie to The Duke of Maxwell, his overlord, to use against his enemy the Duke of Lattimer.  What a mess!!  Now Graeme has to figure out a way to protect his brothers and decide what to do with Lady Marjorie.

Marjorie and Graeme start out as enemies but gradually become friends and so much more.  Their journey of discovery is full of obstacles that they will have to overcome to have their HAE. Suzanne's writing is witty, heartfelt and she takes you on an adventure that includes mischievous young boys, lots of stray animals, and great secondary characters that I hope will have their own stories.

I recommend this book and this series.  This is a wonderful read that will leave you waiting impatiently for the next book in the series.
